The DQ250 gearbox was released into Volkswagen AG passenger vehicles back in 2003 and was the first dual-clutch transmission in a series of production cars. The DQ250 found in the Polo/A1 offers a 6-speed DSG transmission with a wet clutch, with various “driving modes” which changes the characteristics of the vehicle. One of the main points of this is economy, and as such, the drive can feel a little underwhelming, especially when increasing the performance of your vehicle.

IT’S ALL ABOUT THE DRIVE.

Revo DQ250 TCU software has been designed for the driven. Working on the characteristics of the gearbox to provide a better driving experience and optimal performance when coupled with our performance ECU software. Holding the gears better in sports mode so it’s not changing up early and allows the engine to be in the right power band more of the time.

Revo TCU Software gives you much more than just increased clamping pressure and quicker shifts. A large part of development is based on driving scenarios and feedback, ensuring an exhilarating experience. Expect smooth and refined response at low RPM & partial throttle, with optimal shift programming for wide-open throttle driving.

SOFTWARE FEATURES:

Stage 1:

Drive and Sport Mode: Up/Downshift maps have been improved for overall driveability and to keep the engine working in its most efficient rpm range. Upshift points have also been raised in both Drive and Sport mode to 7000rpm to help get the best performance from the engine.

Launch Control: enabled for all models with 3200rpm launch for FWD and 4000rpm launch for 4WD vehicles.

Launch Control Shift Point: Upshift points in launch control mode have been raised to 7000rpm helping optimize the full potential of the engine

Manual Mode: Automatic Up/Downshift in manual mode has been fully disabled allowing the driver to Up/Downshift as and when they please, giving more control to the driver and allowing the full potential of engine to be explored.
Manual Mode Kick-down: Fully disabled giving more control over the car.

Gear Shift Indicator: Where applicable the in gear display is turned on.

Shift speed: Shifts have been fine tuned to offer a quicker and more precise shift further engaging the driver with the vehicle and overall experience.

Torque Limiters: The torque limit built into the factory software has been increased to 500Nm. NOTE: these limits are not hardware limits, but built in software limits from the factory. As with all our software, our DSG software operates within the safety tolerances set by the factory.

Stage 2:

Stage 2 DSG software has all the same features as Stage 1 but further enhanced to help fully utilize the extra performance from the ECU software and hardware.

Sport Mode: As per Stage 1 but Up/Downshift maps have been fine tuned to help maintain peak engine performance. Upshift peak limit raised to 7150rpm and the Downshift points lowered to keeps the engine in the best range for extracting the maximum from the engine for a more aggressive sportier experience.

Launch Control: Enabled for all models with 3200rpm launch for FWD and 4000rpm launch for 4WD vehicles.

Launch Control Shift Point: Upshift points in launch control mode have been raised to 7150rpm helping optimize the full potential of the engine.
